At the risk of starting off this blog on a complain-y note, we had a record-breaking sleepless night Tuesday night. In addition to the house being too hot for any of us to sleep (especially Katie), I managed to let in at least one mosquito in my attempt to let in some of the cool night air. You know how it goes - just drifting off to sleep when zzzzZZZZZ! a mosquito decides to buzz the tower. Back in our old house we used to have frequent bouts with mosquitoes in our bedroom. I got so good at finding and squashing them that DH decided mosquito-killing must be my hidden super power. My superhero name is 'Skeetara and he's my faithful sidekick, Buzz. At the time, pre-LASIK, Buzz was very nearsighted, so he was mostly a cheerleader. Now, as I pointed out last night, his eyesight is way better than mine, so we should be a formidable team. Not so! With 12 foot ceilings and double the square footage, there was no way we were going to find that little monster.
Enter the Stinger MA60 mosquito trap! It has a UV light that attracts them, and a little fan that gently coaxes them in, then traps them so they can't get out. No zapping or poison. Let's hope it works!
